Dubrovnik Local Bus Routes

The local Libertas bus system is a reliable and cost-effective way to get around the small city of Dubrovnik. Most trips cost only 10 Kuna and exact change is required. Popular city routes include the #1A, 1B, & 1C which run from Old Town’s Pile Gate to Mokosica with a stop at the main bus station in Gruz, the #4 which runs from the Pile Gate to the Hotel Palace in Lapad, and the #6 which runs from the Pile Gate to Lapad Babin Kuk. There are also buses that travel routes outside of the city of Dubrovnik, such as the #10 to Mlini, Plat, & Cavtat, #11 to Molunat, #12 to Slano, #15 to Ston, and the #21 to Orebic, where travelers may then catch a ferry to Korcula. Most routes operate 7 days per week from early in the morning until about midnight, but service may vary depending on the day of the week. Detailed schedule information may be found on the following websites:

  1. Will be arriving in Dubrovnik at 6.30pm on 8th September 2010 how can we get from the airport to Slano i.e where is the bus station and is there a bus leaving about 7.00pm - 8.00pm to Slano. Hope you can help me with this.

    Many thanks

  2. You will miss the 18:30 #12 to Slano and the next one after that is at 22:30. However, there is also a #15 bus to Ston that leave the Dubrovnik bus station at 20:30. That bus passes through Slano and will stop if you ask the driver. From the airport you will need to take the airport shuttle bus to the main bus station in Gruz (do not get off at Pile). If you land at 18:30 you should have enough time to get to the bus station by 20:30.

  4. Buses from Dubrovnik leave from the main bus station in Gruz. I do not know where in Herceg Novi they stop but here is a link to the schedule of departures from Dubrovnik: http://www.libertasdubrovnik.com/voznired.pdf.

  5. hi guys,
First things first ur blog ROCKSS!!
Its helping me plan a lot for my trip.
I need your advice my friends and me plan to make a trip to dubrovnik in August. Our flight would land at 10:30 pm. You said something about airport shuttles to gruz. Are there shuttles that late at night. I was checking the link http://www.libertasdubrovnik.com/gradski.pdf - here what do I look for.
    Thanks in advance.

    1. Yes, the airport shuttle runs after every flight arrival, even late at night. You won't find a schedule online. It is operated by Atlas Travel Agency and it just leaves about 20 or 30 minutes after every flight arrival.

  6. Hello!
    Thanks for your site!

I am travelling from Dubrovnik Town to Korcula on Tuesday 14th August, then from Korcula to Dubrovnik airport on Tuesday 21st August. Do you know if this would be possible by bus? And how much these journies would cost?

    Thank you!

    1. Yes, there are 2 buses per day between Dubrovnik and Korcula. You can view the schedule of arrivals and departures from Dubrovnik here: http://www.libertasdubrovnik.com/voznired.pdf. I don't know the arrival and departure times from Korcula and I don't know the cost.

  7. We are staying in Dubrovnik (Old Town). We have a flight tomorrow at 2 pm, and we are thinking of taking either the #10 bus or a ferry to Cavtat, and then a taxi to the airport (we figured it would be cheaper). However, I haven't seen a single bus with #10 the entire time I've been here, so I was curious if you might tell me where we can catch that bus!

    Thanks for the blog!

    1. I believe you can catch the #10 bus just above the Old Town at the bus stop near the cable car entrance.

  8. Hi Andy and Michelle
Thank you for your informative blog.

We are hoping you can help, we are travelling from Dubrovnik old town on the 5th September and planning on getting the bus at 6pm which stops at Ston. We were wondering whereabouts this bus departs from and also whether you know if the bus stop in Ston is walking distance to the town as other communication we have read indicates that it isn't as close as we would think and if so whether a taxi will be easy enough to get when we arrive.

Your help would be much appreciated. Rachael and Dave

    1. I don't see a bus at 6 pm that stops in Ston. According to the schedule (http://www.libertasdubrovnik.com/prigradski.pdf) the #15 local bus to Ston leaves at 10:45, 14:15, 15:15, and 20:30. I think there is a bus stop just in front to the town of Ston. Just be sure to stay on until you reach Ston and do not get off at Mali Ston, which is the first stop and is further away.

In Dubrovnik, the bus will leave from the Gruz Port. I do not know exactly where the #15 leaves from, but I suggest that you go to the Gruz Port (near the market) and ask where the #15 bus stop is. The numbers should also be posted on signs at the bus stops.

    2. How much is the ticket for the bus to Ston?

    3. I really don't know the price. Most local bus tickets are 15 Kuna (about 2 EUR) but it may cost more to go all the way to Ston.

  9. Hi

Thanks for coming back to me. This is the website I've been using for the bus timetables and I found the 6pm one by through the search option and seems to be a Zagreb bus which stops at Ston if it's correct.

    http://www.autobusni-kolodvor.com/en/default.aspx

The 15.15 bus suits us better though so thank you for that.
We are planning to travel on a couple of days after Ston to Mljet via the Prapratno port, do you know of any taxi companies by any chance in this area between Ston and Prapratno or bus timetables we can save for our journey? There is little information I can find in this area so a little worried of getting stuck when we are travelling on foot with luggage.

    Kind regards,
    Rachael

    1. Once you're in Ston it won't be a problem to get a taxi. If there aren't any waiting in town then you should be able to get a phone number and call one. I have not been able to find a phone number for a taxi company online. I also have not found any local bus schedules online. Sorry that I can't be of more help to you there.

  10. Hi Michelle, we booked our Dubrovnik accommodation through your site, and it's been wonderful! Thank you! A quick question regarding buses: do you know where we can view the Prapratno to orebIc bus timetable for September?

    1. Unfortunately, I don't believe that information is posted online. I have searched for it and have not had any luck finding it. Sorry that I can't be of more help!

  11. Hello,

Just wondering if anyone knew what bus/public transport we could use to get to the airport? We are planning to stay the area of Gruz as that is where the boat drops us off and we will need to get to the airport the next day for a 11pm flight.

    Thanks!

    1. I suggest taking the Atlas shuttle bus to the airport. It leaves from the main bus station in Gruz and goes to the airport. There is not a set schedule, but it is set just a few days in advance. I suggest stopping by the bus station in Gruz early in the day to get the departure schedule for that evening.

  12. Hello, really useful website, thanks. The only thing I can't seem to find out is how long the journey from Pile to Mokosica will take by bus? Am looking at renting in Mokosica but will not have a car, do you think this would be reasonable? Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I believe the bus trip from Pile to Mokosica takes about 15 minutes and buses run very frequently. It would be reasonable to stay in Mokosica without a car if you are close to a bus stop. Just make sure that you are not high up on the hill, a long way from the bus.

  13. Hi Michelle,

We're arriving in Dubrovnik airport Thursday at 10am and we're wondering about getting a bus into the ferry port, where we're going to get the Ferry to Lopud. What would you recommend?

Any help would be really appreciated.

    Our warm regards,

    Tony & Yvonne

    1. There is an airport shuttle bus operated by Atlas Travel that leaves the airport shortly after each flight arrival. It costs about 5 EUR per person and makes a stop at the Pile Gate entrance to Old Town before continuing on to the main bus station/Gruz port.

  14. Hello,
I have booked apartment Angelina through your web site and my family and I can't wait to stay there. I see from various reviews that it is a steep (300 steps) climb. Is there a public bus that would take us to and from the old town to at least reduce the climb up.
    Thanks for any suggestions

    1. Unfortunately, there really isn't a bus from the Old Town that will get you closer to Angelina. You can take a taxi from the Ploce gate to the apartment for about 6 EUR. That would be your best option for avoiding the stairs. Please note that the 300 steps are also mentioned in the apartment listing on our website. We do this because we know that that many steps are not for everyone!

  15. Hi! We arrive in Dubrovnik airport at 7:30 a.m. I was planning on taking the airport bus into town and the ferry/catamaran from to Mljet. Is there really only an 8:00 a.m. boat to Mljet from Dubrovnik? Are there more ferries to Mljet from Prapranto? Is there a bus from the airport to Prapranto? Thank you in advance for your help!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I do not think there are any additional ferries to Mljet, but I think the ferry does run more regularly throughout the day from Prapratno. There is no bus directly from the airport to Prapratno, but you could take the airport shuttle bus to the main bus station in Dubrovnik and then take a bus to Ston. From Ston you may be able to get a bus the rest of the way to Prapratno, or you can certainly get a taxi from there.

  16. Hello !
We will arrive at Dubrovnik airport the 6 of august, and we were wondering how can we get mlini from the airport ? I believe the bus 10 ride us there... ?
After our night in Mlini, we booked an apartment through your site, so we have to go to dubrovnik old center, how can we do that ?
    Thank you very much !!

    1. The #10 bus goes from Cavtat to Dubrovnik but does not go to the airport. You can take the Atlas airport shuttle to Dubrovnik and ask the driver to get off at Mlini. He should let you out at the bus station on the main road. Just be sure that he will drop you there before getting on. If there is any problem with that, then you could take a local bus from the airport to Cavtat and then switch to the #10 there to Mlini.

From Mlini to Dubrovnik you can take the #10 bus and get off above the Old Town.

  17. Hi there,

We arrive at dubrovnik airport this Sunday 27th Oct at 11.40am we're staying in the Obod area of Cavtat, is there a bus that we can get from the airport to roughly where we are staying?

    Thanks for your help!

    1. There are a couple of buses that stop at the airport that go to Dubrovnik, passing by Obud (#11 & #38) but it doesn't look like there will be one that is convenient for you on Sunday. You might be able to take the Atlas airport shuttle bus and ask them if they can drop you off in Obud. It is a short trip and a taxi would probably only cost about 10 to 15 EUR.

  18. Hello,
    Great site!

Arriving at Dubrovnik Airport at 21:00 and hoping to get to Orasac [Radisson Blu resort] by bus?

Can we get the shuttle from the airport to the bus station from the airport then another bus to Orasac?

It looks like the bus station is halfway between airport and Orasac, if there is no bus from the bus station would a taxi be affordable?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    1. Yes, there should be a bus from the main bus station to Orasac. You can view the bus schedule here: http://www.libertasdubrovnik.com/prigradski.pdf.

The buses that pass by Orasac are the #12, 15, & 35 (and maybe some others). Otherwise, a taxi would probably cost about 20 to 30 EUR.

  19. Hello Andy and Michelle!

Thank you for the information that you share, it's very useful.

I arrive to Dubrovnik On July 13, at 1 p.m. As far as I understand from Dubrovnik airport I can take a bus to the bus station (Gruz port). However, I wonder if there is any bus could take me from this bus station to Igalo. I was searching on the internet for any information, however I didn't find any timetable. I would appreciate any information you can share in regard to the issue.

    Thank you in advance,
    Victoria

    1. To get to Montenegro by bus you would first have to take the airport shuttle bus to the main bus station in Gruz Port. Here is a link to the international bus schedule leaving from Gruz: http://www.libertasdubrovnik.com/voznired.pdf. It does not specifically mention Igalo (which is a very small place) but there are buses to Herceg Novi, Kotor, and Budva, which will either stop there or get you very close.
